Acceptable-use policy
Last updated 30 September 2026
A Cloud Window computer is yours to use as you like, with a short list of exceptions. These exist to protect other customers, the service and our hosting provider, whose own rules we are required to pass on. Breaking them can lead to suspension without notice.
Do not use a Cloud Window computer to
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk messages, or distribute malware.
- Attack, scan, probe or overload other systems, or attempt to access systems you are not authorized to use.
- Mine cryptocurrency.
- Run public proxies, VPN exit nodes, Tor relays, peer-to-peer file-sharing services, IRC servers or card-sharing services. A private tunnel for your own devices is fine.
- Run game bots, traffic-exchange schemes or search-engine manipulation services.
- Store or process regulated data, such as health records under HIPAA, that we have not agreed in writing to handle.
- Break the law, infringe others' rights, or harass people.
- Work around technical limits, resource limits or fees, or interfere with other customers' computers.
Agents
Agents running on or connected to your computer act on your behalf. You are responsible for what they do there, including anything you approve. Keep the approval prompts on for actions you would not want an agent to take alone.
Resources
Your computer has the cores, memory and storage of its plan. Sustained heavy computation that affects other customers may be throttled, and we will contact you first when we can. Larger plans exist for larger workloads.
Cloud Window computers cannot send mail directly: outbound mail ports (25, 465 and 587) are blocked on every computer. To send email from your computer, use a mail service's HTTPS API.
If you see abuse coming from a Cloud Window computer, or believe your own computer has been compromised, write to hello@getcloudwindow.com with the address of the computer (for example word-word.getcloudwindow.com, or its IP address) and what you saw. We act on reports within one business day.
