An operating system for agents and for getting work done

A responsive, native-resolution place to get your work done.

Available on any device within reach.

CloudWindow is your own persistent Linux machine. It keeps running when you close the window, with your files, your shells and your apps exactly where you left them.

This is not desktop streaming. Cloud Window is a real computer whose desktop is drawn on your screen at your screen's own resolution, so text is crisp and keystrokes land at once. It is designed to be beautiful and fast: a place where you will want to do all of your work.

Its desktop opens in any browser, on a Mac, a PC, an iPad or a phone. The desktop is drawn on your device rather than streamed as video, so it feels close and stays light on a phone.

Made for your favorite agents: Claude Code and Codex come built in, and every part of the computer is reachable by them through built-in tools. You sign in with your own account, and you approve what they do.

  1. 01

    An always-on computer

Four cores, eight gigabytes of memory and fast storage, always on. Long jobs keep running while you are away, and the desktop stays right where you left it. Scale up, or add more compute when you need it.

  2. 02

    A complete desktop experience

Terminals, web pages, files and documents as windows and spaces, with one set of shortcuts across all of them. Drawn at native resolution, not streamed as video, so it is sharp and responsive on any device. Nothing to install.

  3. 03

    A first-class agent system

Every window, terminal, page and file is reachable through built-in tools, so agents can operate the whole computer, and you can talk to it to get things done. Risky actions wait for your approval.

What's inside

Everything a computer needs.

A terminal window with coloured git output

Persistent terminals

Shells keep running after you close the browser. Start a build on the laptop and check it from the phone.

The file pane with a folder tree, a listing with git status letters and a Markdown preview

File manager with previews and git status

Browse, preview and organize files, with git status shown inline. Changes appear as they happen, and deletions go to a trash with undo.

The voice panel open in the corner of the desktop

Voice control and dictation

Talk to your computer to get things done, with your permission for actions. Dictate into any field, including the terminal.

The desktop on a phone with a terminal and the touch key row

Works on every device

The interface adapts to the device, enabling a powerful mobile experience. Cloud Window supports multiple displays.

The launcher open over the desktop with grouped results for a typed query

Fast, system-wide search

One shortcut searches windows, apps, actions, spaces, sites and files as you type. Enter opens the result.

The keyboard cheat sheet listing every shortcut by group

Optimized for keyboard-first navigation

Every action has a shortcut, and every shortcut can be remapped. A cheat sheet lists the whole keyboard.

The bar with its stats popover open: traffic, round trip, processor, memory, disk and load

Status bar, notifications and system health

Clock, weather and system vitals at a glance. Notifications for finished jobs, downloads and approvals. Agents can add their own widgets.

The Disk Usage app showing drives and the folders taking the room

Built-in utilities

A secrets manager that passes API keys to your programs without exposing them, a disk usage tool, and a system monitor with restart.

A browser pane showing seekinggradient.com

Built-in browser

Web pages open as windows beside your terminals. Tabs persist across devices, and pages render sharply at native resolution.

Preferences showing the wallpaper picker and appearance settings

Wallpapers and themes

Light and dark modes, accent colours, and dozens of wallpapers, with a different one per space if you like.

Four windows tiled on one space: two terminals, the file pane and a browser pane

Efficient, simple window management

A tiling window manager arranges windows automatically. Switch between tiled, scrolling and focused layouts, and organize work across multiple spaces.

The Editor with a Markdown document, a checklist and a table

Document editor with PDF and Word export

Write in Markdown with images, tables and links between notes. Export to PDF or Word.

Built for you and your agents

Agents work beside you.
You approve what matters.

  • Made for your favorite agents. Claude Code and Codex come built in: open a terminal, type claude or codex, and sign in with your own account. Every session gets the computer's MCP tools and its skill automatically, so it already knows how to drive the desktop, and the bar shows how much of your plan you have used.
  • A computer built from the ground up for computer use. Seventy MCP tools let an agent look at the desktop, open windows, run commands, read a page as text, edit files and change settings, with a short guide that teaches it how to behave before it touches anything.
  • Connect agents from outside, too. The computer runs its own MCP server. Create a key in Preferences with exactly the permissions you choose, and any MCP client on your laptop or in another service can work on this computer with it. Revoke the key and its access ends.
  • Approvals for risky actions. Running a command, closing a window or changing a setting pauses until you approve or deny it, from whichever device you are on. At most three requests wait at a time.
  • An audit log of every action. Each call an agent makes is recorded: what was done, by which connection, and whether you approved it. The log never contains your screen or file contents.
  • Agents can customize the desktop safely. An agent can add a widget to the bar, a launcher action, a shortcut or a colour, as data the desktop validates and draws. You can keep, disable or remove each one, and an agent never runs code on your desktop to do it.
An approval request on the desktop: an agent asks to run a command, with Approve and Deny buttons
An agent asks to run git push origin main. Nothing happens until you answer.
Preferences showing agent connections and the list of tools that ask first
Each connection holds only the grants you ticked. Reading never implies acting.

Details

Practical
questions.

What kind of computer is it?

A Linux machine of your own, with its own disk, running all the time. Terminals and the programs in them survive closing the browser and even the service restarting. A reboot of the machine, which happens for maintenance, still stops running programs; your files and your desktop layout come back as they were.

Which apps run on it?

Run terminal tools, web apps, VS Code, and full native Linux desktop apps such as Bambu Studio, GIMP and LibreOffice. Install Linux apps from Browse apps and open them beside your other windows. Native Linux apps use a live view; the desktop, terminals and mirrored browser are drawn on your device. Windows and macOS software does not run on it.

Which agents can use it?

Claude Code and Codex come built in and already wired to the computer's tools; you sign in with your own Anthropic or OpenAI account. Any client that speaks MCP and can send a bearer token connects from a laptop. The Claude and ChatGPT phone apps need OAuth, which is not there yet.

Is voice included?

Voice uses your own OpenAI key and is billed by OpenAI by the minute; dictation runs on the machine itself and costs nothing extra. Both are off until you turn them on.

Where does it run, and who can get in?

Computers run in the western United States today; more regions later. You sign in from the portal; agents get only the grants you tick, and every action is logged. As with any hosted computer, the operator retains administrative access to the machine, and we say so rather than pretend otherwise.

Can I connect over SSH?

Yes. In Your computers, open SSH access and add your device’s public key. You can also manage keys in the desktop’s Preferences → SSH access. Copy the connection command and compare the host fingerprint on your first connection. SSH, SFTP, SCP and VS Code Remote SSH reach the same files and tools as your browser terminal.

Your private key stays on your device. Removing a key blocks new connections; existing sessions stay open. SSH access is available on your own hosted computer, not the disposable demo. Self-hosted installations use their host’s SSH setup.

Can I take my computer with me?

Your files, settings and agent memory are plain files on your disk. Cloning and moving a computer between providers is on the roadmap, and the same software installs on a plain Ubuntu server if you would rather run it yourself.

What happened to the Omarchy edition?

The earlier Cloud Window streamed an Omarchy desktop from your own AWS account through Moonlight and Tailscale. It still exists, unchanged, at omarchy.getcloudwindow.com. This page is about the new Cloud Window: a hosted computer with a desktop drawn in your browser.
